1st Airplane Ride!

Mireya was really good! She was a little nervous. She insisted on holding my hand when we took off and landed, which was fine with me! I never get to hold those busy, little hands, and I love them so much!

She has talked about airplanes since she was old enough to recognize what they are, because we live right next to the local airport. She sees small planes all the time and gets really excited. When Daddy started taking frequent business trips, she began expressing her interest in wanting to ride on one too. This was her chance, and she even got her own carry-on backpack. My sweet girl did a great job!

Time for bed!

"Mireya, it is time for bed."

"NO! I wanna play for five minutes. I am going to play for five minutes!"

"No, it is past your bed time already. Come on."

"NO! I AM GOING TO PLAY FOR FIVE MINUTES! FIVE MINUTES!"

"No, you can play more tomorrow."

"YEEEEEESSS! FIVE MINUTES! I need to eat too!"

"No, Mireya."

"But I WANT to!"

"NO."

"YES. I. AM. GOING. TO. PLAY."

"NO. YOU. ARE. NOT."

"AAAAAHHHHHHHHHH....."

***insert world ending Hollywood scene because it is bedtime***

I swear we do this every night with her. I do not know why kids have to bargain at bed time. I LOVE bedtime. :)

p.s. After we get her in bed she yells out every five minutes for the first half and hour about everything from needing to pee on the potty to needing a drink to monsters. *sigh* I think bedtimes take longer and longer the older she gets.

Little Performer

Mireya is smart, amazing, dramatic, and creative! She LOVES to perform! Almost every night she has me and her Daddy stop everything we are doing and watch her. She will create a stage out of books, toys, cat beds, anything she can find. She then stands on the stage, intorduces herself and what she is going to perform, and begins. Sometimes it is a song or two, sometimes she tells a story she made up, and sometimes she dances. I cannot believe that a two year old is doing this all on her own! We never taught her. She is as cute as can be. Here is an example:

1st Valentine's Day Party

Mireya went to her first Valentine's Day Party yesterday at her preschool. She had fun! She took homemade red velvet and cream cheese filled sandwich cookies. She also took Minnie Mouse Valentines and heart shaped fruit snacks for her classmates. Her teacher had everyone hand out their Valentines to their classmates and do crafts for a couple of hours. FUN! (As you can see, she also wore a cute Valentine's Day outfit.)

First day of preschool!

Mireya started preschool today! She is growing up fast! The morning started out rocky. We forgot to wash her clothes, so we spent a half hour finding something that she could wear. When we did find something, she refused to get dressed and there was a fair amount of kicking and screaming. Then, she was not cooperating at all while taking her "first day of school" photos. She ended up being a few minutes late because of everything.

Once we got to school, everything went smoothly. She was not nervous at all, probably because her best-friend, Landon, was there. She spoke to the teacher and introduced herself. (She is adorable when she says, "Hi. My name is Mireya.") She then took off and began playing with all of the fun new toys and children. One of the first things she did, which made me proud(!), was run over to a little boy playing with a large two-person toy and ask him, "Hi. Can I play with you?" Hooray! She may not have good manners all the time at home, but she does at school!

Spoiled by MeMe, Papa, and Uncle Canyon

Mireya and I went down to St. George today to see my Dad, my Step-mom, and my brother. She was super excited! She knows exactly who they are, and positively adores them! They all spoil her rotten. She gets homemade treats, favorite snacks, candy, TONS of love and attention, and always a special surprise or two. She never wants to leave, but when we do she always rattles on about how much fun she had.

It is really nice to see Mireya get treated as the special, sweet girl she is. All children need extended family to spoil them the way parents do not. ;) Mireya will never wont for love in this life.
