Climbing Onto Counters

I have considered myself very fortunate up to this point that Mireya has not yet figured out she can use chairs to climb onto the counters and gain access to contents of the upper cupboards. As of yesterday, she figured this out. She put a chair up by the counter, climbed up, grabbed a cup and lid, and got herself some water. This included screwing the lid onto the cup, and doing all of this without making a mess. Since, she has been dragging chairs all over to get into cupboards. If we were not moving I would be tot-locking them.

Many children are natural climbers; I was one. Mireya never has been. She is a careful child, who does not do things recklessly, unless she is tired. I am grateful, and I hope that this newly discovered ability is one she is just as careful about.

Mireya Biffed It Big Time

Mireya was running around the house 90 miles an hour when she tripped. She fell into the corner of the wall, and smacked her face right into it! My poor girl!!!! Her face is all bruised. :(

Mireya's 3rd Birthday Party!

I worked extremely hard preparing for Mireya's 3rd birthday party. She had asked me for a Doc McStuffins themed party. (She is obsessed with Doc McStuffins!) Mireya and I got sick the weekend it was scheduled for, and everyone forgot on the day I rescheduled it, but... everyone finally showed up, and we finally made it happen! I think it looked incredible, and the most important thing--it made Mireya happy! She was super excited when she saw everything I set up! As she looked at the table set up with her cake and treats, she said, "Mommy! The candy kisses fell over! I'll fix them!" She proceeded to "fix" every single Hershey's Kiss and place them upright. Haha! She is a perfectionist like Mommy! ;)

Ask and you shall receive baby girl. I LOVE YOU! HAPPY PARTY!

Mireya was very excited when I told her that her friends would be showing up soon!


Everyone was having a great time. Mireya was really happy, and loving all the activities I planned. I got every child a stuffed animal to heal, a doctor's kit, a Big Book of Boo Boo's, and a double-sided Doc is In (or out) door hanger, along with a bunch of other fun things. They all pretended to be doctors like Doc McStuffin, and they used their medical tools to heal the animals. They made a diagnosis (that was fun!) and then drew a picture of it in their Big Book of Boo Boo's. We played Bingo, colored Doc McStuffin's pictures, and everybody healed each other's imaginary boo-boos too! When it was time to blow out the candles on the cake, Mireya's demeanor changed. She got upset! She did not like that everyone was singing and all eyes were focused on her. She actually burst into tears!

Of course, the highlight was opening the presents! Everyone spoiled Mireya! She loved everything, and Jason and I really appreciated everyone's thoughtfulness. Thank you everybody!



Thank you to everyone who came and participated! It was a lot of fun! Mireya is a special girl, and Jason and I appreciate it when people are their to support and love her. :)

Big Girl!

Mireya just hollered from her room, "I need to go pee in the potty!" It is 10:45 at night. She woke up to go potty! HOORAY! That is a big girl thing to do! Jason and I are very proud of her! We still have her wear pull-ups at night just in case. If she starts getting up in the night to go potty, she will not need them anymore. :) YAY!

Special Treat

Mireya got a coupon for a free scoop of ice cream for her birthday. I decided that since I had a few things to finish up for her birthday party this weekend, I would send her and her Daddy out for a Daddy-Daughter date! They had lots of fun!

You are amazing, sweetheart. I love you so much! I am proud of everything you accomplished this year. You have grown and changed more than I could have imagined. I love watching you live every day, because the moments are precious. You are enthusiastic, passionate, dramatic, careful, smart, and funny. Your are often too busy for too many hugs and kisses, but if I could catch you I would smother you with them! I do not know how I got so lucky to have you, but I am grateful. You are my world baby girl. Thank you for being you. I hope you have a truly special year!
